How to Pick a PC

We have custom-built NASEF-approved esports gaming computers and monitors available at multiple price points, depending on your budget, as well as keyboards, mice and cables. We provide both new and refurbished models. By providing custom-built refurbished machines, optimized for esports, we can save your schools hundreds of dollars compared to buying new machines, without sacrificing quality or performance. All our machines are backed by our 1-year hardware warranty.

Our 100-series is our budget line of gaming PCs, constructed mainly from refurbished parts and recycled cases, built for maximum costs savings without sacrificing performance. These budget-friendly computers can deliver exceptional gameplay for most esports titles at 1080p HD resolution and 60 FPS at a fraction of the cost of brand new gaming computers.

Our 200-series is our intermediate line of gaming PCs, combining both new and refurbished parts to strike an ideal balance between cost savings and performance. These PCs are built from the ground up using brand new gaming cases, newer model processors and graphics cards, and have a larger storage capacity than our 100 series PCs. They can easily handle any esports title at over 60FPS at 1080p HD resolution and on maximum graphics setting.

Our 300-series is our premier line of gaming PCs, built from all new parts, and containing the very latest processors, most powerful graphics cards, and more RAM and storage capacity than our 200-series. These are our top of the line builds that can crush any esports title, designed for customers who insist on the very newest and best components.

A Review of our 100-Series Budget NASEF-Approved Computer Models:

1.) Model 101 is an entry-level gaming PC for those on a limited budget. Model 101 is perfect for playing less graphics intensive titles or retro esport games on lower to medium graphics settings. With 8 GB RAM, a Quad-Core i5 processor and a GT 710 graphics card, Model 101 can run many esport titles , but would struggle to hit 60 frames per second (FPS) at 1080p resolution on maximum or high graphics setting for titles such as Fortnite** and Overwatch**. It would be able to play these titles on lower graphic settings, and is better suited for older titles such as Starcraft II, DOTA 2 and CS:GO.

2.) Model 111 can smoothly play Rocket League**, Minecraft**, League of Legends** and other esport titles on high graphics settings. With a powerful GTX 750 Ti graphics card, a Quad Core i5 Processor and 8 GB RAM, it should surpass 60 FPS at 1080p resolution on maximum settings for games such as CS:GO** and League of Legends**. It would struggle to achieve a consistent 60 FPS at 1080p on maximum settings for graphics intensive titles such as Overwatch** and Fortnite**. For these games, it would perform better at medium to high graphics settings.

3.) Model 121 is our second most powerful refurbished PC. It is a fully competent gaming computer that can handle even the most graphic intensive esport titles. It can play esport games such as League of Legends**, Fortnite**, Rocket League**, Minecraft**, and Overwatch** at 1080p resolution and over 60 FPS on maximum graphics settings.  This model has 8 GB RAM, a workhorse GTX 1050 Ti GPU and a Quad Core i5 processor.

4.) Model 131 is our most powerful refurbished gaming PC. It can play most modern, graphics intensive esports games at 1080p HD resolution and over 60 frames per second on maximum graphics settings. It has a newer 3rd generation Quad Core i5 processor than Model 121, as well as 8 GB RAM and a powerful GTX 1060 3GB GPU. We recommend this model for maximum performance and compatibility with current esports titles, including Overwatch**, League of Legends**, Fortnite**, Minecraft** and more.

Our Monitors:

We offer a selection of new and refurbished monitors that come with a one year warranty. Our monitors have sizes ranging from 20"- 27", resolutions ranging from 900p - 1440p, refresh rates that vary between 60hz-155hz, and response times of 1ms-5ms. Our higher end models also offer FreeSync or G-Sync to allow for incredibly smooth gameplay.

Which monitor you choose depends on what setup you are most comfortable with, how casual or serious a gamer you are, and the size of your budget. See the table below for a breakdown of what each monitor feature means.

How do I pick the right gaming monitor?

 Feature Options Summary
Size 20"- 27" A bigger display provides an enhanced gaming experience by allowing a larger field of view and more detail. The resolution is also important to ensure a screen does not appear pixelated. 24" monitors are currently the standard for gaming, although 27" monitors are growing in popularity due to the increased immersion they provide.
Resolution 900p - 1440p Screen resolution is the measure of the number of pixels a screen can display. The higher the number, the greater the detail of the image. 24" monitors are optimally paired with 1080p in gaming. 27" monitors can be paired with 1080p (HD) or 1440p (WQHD or QHD - 4 times as many pixels as HD). Some gamers prefer the 24"/1080p combination, while others find the 27"/1440p combination the most immersive and advantageous for gaming.
Refresh Rate 60hz-155hz Refresh rates are defined as how often a monitor displays a new image on the screen per second; usually represented by Hertz (Hz). The higher the refresh rate, the more frames the panel is capable of displaying, resulting in smoother visuals and a more instantaneous display of gameplay changes. While gaming at 60hz is standard, 144hz and above is considered optimal.
Response Time 5ms-1ms A monitor’s response time is the number of milliseconds (ms) for a pixel to change from fully active, to inactive, back to active again. A monitor with a lower response time is capable of showing you actions closer to real time, allowing you to respond to in-game changes more quickly. 5 ms and under is considered optimal for gaming, with 1ms considered the best response time.
Adaptive Sync FreeSync & G-Sync AMD's FreeSync and NVIDIA's G-Sync are features of certain monitors that synchronize the refresh rate of the monitor with the refresh rate of the graphics card, preventing image stuttering, tearing, and providing exceptionally smooth gameplay. Each system is proprietary - so if you have an AMD card (RX 570, RX 580) you'll want a monitor with FreeSync, and if you have a GTX card (GTX 750ti, GTX 1050ti, GTX 1060, GTX 1070, GTX 1080ti) you'll want a monitor with G-sync to take advantage of this feature.
Input Ports DisplayPort, HDMI, VGA 1920×1080 screen resolution at 60-75hz will generally look the same whether you’ve connected via the DVI-D, DisplayPort, or HDMI port. To take full advantage of 144hz gaming monitors you'll want to use DisplayPort. Additionally, to take advantage of FreeSync or G-Sync features requires the use of DisplayPort as well. VGA is an older, more limited input and should be avoided whenever possible.

All our refurbished monitors perform at 60hz and 5ms:

1.) Our 20” refurbished monitor – this is our entry-level monitor, capable of delivering excellent performance and crisp graphics in combination with any of our computer models at 900p resolution.

2.) Our 24” refurbished monitor – this is a slightly larger monitor compared to our entry-level model. It can provide a crisp 1080p (1920 x 1080) HD resolution and a larger viewing area for more detail and an enhanced gaming experience.

3.) Our 27” refurbished monitor – this is our largest monitor, providing a widescreen gaming experience at 1080p (1920 x 1080) HD resolution, for the highest quality detail and largest viewing surface out of our refurbished lineup.

We also offer a buyback program, where we can purchase your school’s old technology, as well as supply your school with quality refurbished PCs, Apple computers and tablets for your classrooms at a fraction of the cost of new devices.
